Diarrhea & Nausea Management
Consider avoiding these foods while experiencing diarrhea:
- High-fiber foods such as oatmeal and whole-wheat bread
- Milk and milk products unless they are low lactose or lactose-free
- Greasy, fatty, or fried foods
- Raw vegetables and fruit
- Legumes, broccoli, celery, and corn
- Nuts and beans
- High-sugar drinks such as juice and regular soda
- Very hot or very cold drinks
- Food or drinks with caffeine, like regular coffee, tea, some soda, and chocolate
- Alcohol
Nausea Management
At Home Nausea Medications:
Compazine 10mg (prochlorperazine)
- Directions: Take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed for mild nausea
Zofran 8mg (ondansetron)
- Directions: Take 1 tablet every 8-12 hours as needed for moderate nausea not relieved by Compazine
Prilosec 40mg (MD Preference)
- Directions: Take one tablet daily
