Meet Our Nutritionist
When you have cancer, your body needs proper nutrients and calories to recover from treatment. Yet, eating well can be difficult when you feel nauseous or don’t have the energy to cook. That’s where a nutritionist can help.
Param Panchal is a clinical nutritionist who partners with our team to educate patients and families, monitor patient nutrition, and support healthy eating through-out and post treatment. He received his bachelor’s degree in sport biology from Springfield College. He went on to graduate summa cum laude with his master’s in clinical nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. He served as a clinical nutritionist at the University of Bridgeport where he conducted and documented nutrition assessments for patients and developed personalized nutritional care plans and therapies for patients. He monitored calorie counts and recommended appropriate supplements for patients, as well as advised patients of all age groups regarding all aspects of nutrition. He also serves as a professor at Asnuntuck Community College.
With his extensive background in nutrition, Param assists cancer patients and their families in developing a plan for good nutrition and helps create a meal plan that promotes healing and minimizes side effects while undergoing cancer treatment.
Param is available to meet with patient when they are in the office and plays a key role on your cancer care team. He can be reached at (860) 886-8362, ext. 244.
