New Clinical Trial for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) - ECHO Associates

New Clinical Trial for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, specifically the white blood cells called lymphocytes. CLL is a chronic leukemia, meaning it develops slowly and can progress slowly over months or years. It is one of the most common types of leukemias.

Advancements in CLL treatment with BTK inhibitors have revolutionized the management of  CLL, moving away from traditional chemotherapy and towards targeted therapies. BTK inhibitors, particularly the second-generation options, have shown significant efficacy and improved safety profiles compared to older treatments.

ECHO is pleased to offer one of the newest trials in CLL. This trial is for patients who have been diagnosed, but have not been previously treated for CLL/SLL. Patients with different mutation markers will be considered for the study.

About the Trial

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of nemtabrutinib compared with ibrutinib or acalabrutinib in patients with untreated CLL/SLL. As nemtabrutinib is a novel agent that inhibits BTK differently compared with the covalent inhibitors, it may improve the efficacy of current inhibitors by extending the duration of remission through continued activity even in patients who develop a BTK C481S mutation. A BTKi that improves the efficacy of the current standards while having a tolerable safety profile will represent an advance in this therapeutic area.

Participating in this Trial

We are actively screening patients for this trial. All details of the study will be discussed with the patient and if the patient agrees to participate, they will be consented into the trial. The study coordinator will work closely with the patient throughout the study.
