Felicia Wildes, RN, BSN
Registered Nurse
Her Background
I have been a registered nurse at ECHO for about four years. I have been previously trained to mix chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and I also help train the new nurses who join our team.
Why She Chose Hematology/Oncology
Nursing is a very rewarding career all around, but oncology has always stood out to me. When I was a nursing student, I had a rotation on the oncology floor at Backus. That rotation was special to me because I was able to see the nurses go above and beyond and make a difference in their patients’ lives. From that point on, I always knew I wanted to go into oncology nursing so I could help make a difference.
How She Makes a Positive Difference in the Lives of Our Patients
When patients come in to start a new chemotherapy treatment, it can be a very scary and overwhelming experience. Patients aren’t sure what to expect. I try to help my patients feel comfortable while receiving treatment and walk them through the process so that they feel more at ease.
What She Enjoys Most About Her Role at ECHO
I love being a nurse at ECHO because of the patients. They are so special and caring in their own ways. Being in an outpatient setting, we can connect with the patients and are able to care for them in more ways than in any other setting. We strive to improve the quality of care for our patients.
Her Life Outside of Work
I enjoy relaxing on the lake with my husband on our boat, going on hikes, and lounging with my dog.
