Focus on Supportive Care
Chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and other direct treatments are key to fighting and removing cancer from a patient’s body, but they’re not the only variables to consider. A patient whose entire range of needs, from physical to mental, is being met is a healthier, happier patient.
Join the Community Oncology Alliance Patient Advocacy Network (CPAN) for a virtual Advocacy Chat on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 12 p.m. ET. COA’s Director of Patient Advocacy and Education, Rose Gerber, MS, will discuss cancer wellness and the role of care support with MaryAnn Fragola, DNP, ANPc, ACHPN, Chief of Wellness Services at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists.
Rose and MaryAnn will discuss current best practices for addressing patient wellness, including creating dietary plans, exercise systems, mental therapy schedules, and more. Fragola will provide insight from the provider side about addressing these topics, and how providers can address patient concerns about changing normal routines to better their wellness.
Caring for a patient’s physical and mental health requires addressing nutritional needs, exercise regimens, mental counseling schedules, and more. This event will be part of our virtual CPAN Advocacy Chats series – short, monthly educational webinars on key cancer issues and the policies that impact them. Each month will feature a new topic and special guests joining us. Patients, survivors, caregivers, and other cancer care advocates are all invited to join us for these free, interactive, virtual events!
