Congratulations to Dr. Mandeep Dhami, Dr. Dinesh Kapur, Dr. Sabina Dhami, and APRNs Nicole Mckenzie and Alexandra Pitman for their recent research. The team examined rapid resolution of factor VIII inhibitor with combination therapy of Rituximab and steroids. They will be presenting their findings at the annual meeting of The Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis meeting in February.

Factor VIII inhibitor (acquired hemophilia) is a rare bleeding disorder due to autoantibodies against factor VIII. This results in a reduction in factor VIII levels causing bleeding relating to the skin and mucous membranes, and the areas where they meet. The team will share a case study of a patient who was successfully treated with a combination of Rituximab and steroids and had an excellent response and remains in complete remission.
