Grateful for Our Grant to Support Holistic Services
We are pleased to announce that the ECHO Foundation has officially received a $4,000 grant from After the Storm to provide holistic health services for our patients. After The Storm’s mission is to assist cancer survivors to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually from the aftermath of their diagnoses and treatments and to help restore balance to their lives. The foundation holds several fundraising events during the year, with proceeds going to benefit integrative medicine programs that help cancer patients heal – mind, body, and spirit.
This grant will be used to support ECHO patients who seek holistic services at the Norwich Holistic Health Center led by Martha Briggs, LicAc., M.A. The Norwich Holistic Health Center has been serving and providing care for the greater Norwich community for over 25 years. They offer services that complement mainstream medical care by supporting physical and emotional symptoms that often accompany cancer and the corresponding treatments.
Medicine is constantly evolving and, with advancements, science is confirming the importance of self-care and the mind/body connection. Through their relationship with ECHO, the Norwich Holistic Center has integrated and developed protocols for cancer support. They offer:
- Acupuncture
- Embodied Dream Work
- Energy Work
- Oncology Massage
- Oncology Yoga
- Thai Yoga Body Therapy
Therapies are offered in conjunction with cancer treatments and for people in remission.
The goal is to educate and provide therapies that encourage peacefulness and
well-being at all stages of life.
