Exercise Fuels the Body and Soul
Today we highlight one our valued team members, Kasey. Kasey is a Medical Assistant with ECHO. She shares a recent accomplishment and the satisfaction that it provides. Way to go Kasey!
- “I recently competed in my first HYROX race alongside my cousin, Brianna. HYROX is a fitness competition that combines eight 1-kilometer runs with eight functional workout stations, including exercises like sled pushes and pulls, rowing, burpee broad jumps, and wall balls. It started in Germany and has quickly grown into a worldwide sport that challenges endurance and strength. After graduating from BU, I found myself facing a lot of uncertainty while preparing to apply to medical school. During that time, fitness became an important outlet for me. I was drawn to HYROX because it pushes me both mentally and physically, gives me goals to work toward, and has helped me become stronger and more confident in my abilities. Training for the race has also been a great way to spend time with my cousin and sharing that experience together made crossing the finish line even more rewarding. Looking forward to my next race in Boston in October!”
